Shirley Edna Spilker

Shirley Edna Spilker, 75, of Cambridge, went to be with the love of her life – Joe Spilker, on Saturday (June 15, 2013).

She was born May 10, 1938 in Hartford IN, daughter of the late Everett D. Smith and Esther (Kline) Smith.

Mrs. Spilker was a property manager for Wallick Properties for 12 ½ years, retiring in 2006.

She was a very active member of Faith United Methodist Church of Cambridge.

Mrs. Spilker was a graduate of Rising Sun High School in Indiana.

She enjoyed cruising and playing dominos. She loved gardening.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph “Joe” T. Spilker, who died December 13, 2009. They were married November 7, 1959.

She is survived by a son, Michael Todd (& Brenda) Spilker of Cambridge and their children Keely Spilker, Katie Spilker, and Shelby Spilker; two daughters, Monique Ann Spilker of Worthington and her children Brandon Cornelius and Cameron Cornelius, and Melody Ann (& Daniel) Brown of Pataskala and their children Nathan Brown and Nicholas Brown; a brother, David Smith of San Antonio TX; a sister, Betty Ashcraft of Cleves; and her dear friends, James Poteet and Patricia Burch.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday (June 18, 2013) from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Rev. Keith Peachey officiating.

Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to one of the following organizations: 1) Faith United Methodist Church, 500 S 7th Street, Cambridge OH 43725; or 2) Hospice of Central Ohio, 2269 Cherry Valley Road, Newark OH 43055.
