Ada Raymond

Ada "Honey" Raymond, of Cambridge Ohio, went home to be with her Lord, on Wednesday (November 19, 2008) after a brief illness. She was born on May 22, 1933 to the late Harry and Ruth Knowles. She lived her early years in Atlantic City, New Jersey until she met and married her loving and devoted husband Edgar Raymond on May 21st, 1952 with whom she celebrated fifty-six and a half years. She began her journey in Columbus, Ohio where she lived and raised their seven children; Ruth (Al) Burgi of Louisville, Ohio, Catherine (Gene) Doll of Zanesville, Ohio, Judith Raymond of Cambridge, Ohio, Edgar (Carol) Raymond II of Cambridge, Ohio, David Raymond of Cambridge, Ohio, Jeanne (John) Lorenz of Caldwell, Ohio, and Thomas Raymond of Cambridge, Ohio. She is also the proud grandmother of nineteen grandchildren and soon to be twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by four of her ten brothers and sisters; Harry (Ellen) Knowles of Connecticut, Barry Knowles of California, Neal (Marianna) Knowles of Virginia, and Ruth Knowles of Florida. She is also survived by her dear sisters-in-law Sister Mary Catherine, Judy McKitrick and Flo Raymond, along with her brothers-in-law Jack (Carol) Raymond and Chuck (Sandy) Raymond, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was an avid reader, loved to paint and tend to her garden. She loved to travel to see her family, where she always made new friends with her warmth and kindness. She was a constant beacon in her children's lives and a loving companion to her husband Edgar. She was a devoted member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, where she found her strength and hope. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Family and friends may call on Saturday (November 22, 2008) from 10 to 11 a.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with Father Robert Borer officiating. Interment will be at the Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Following the interment, the family will receive friends at the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church fellowship hall.
