Albert Jones Jr., 70, of Cambridge, died Monday (August 16, 2010) at Genesis-Good Samaritan Medical Center, Zanesville, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 5, 1940 in Cambridge, son of the late Albert Jones and Wilma (Smith) Jones. Mr. Jones retired from the US Navy after twenty-two years of service, earning the rank of Electrician's Mate. He served two tours in Vietnam. He was a graduate of New Concord High School and a member of the Christ United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles, gardening and woodworking. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Tom Jones and Richard Alan Jones. He is survived by a brother, Bob (& Eileen) Jones of Zanesville; two sisters, Karen Jones of Cambridge and Sandy Tittle of Cambridge; and several nieces & nephews. No calling hours will be observed. A graveside service will be held Thursday (August 19, 2010) at 11 a.m. at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with Rev. Sturman Moore officiating. Military graveside services will be conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Albert's name to the Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund, 2167 North Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
