Alice Cramblett

September 29, 1920 — February 5, 2017

Alice Cramblett, 96, passed away Sunday (February 5, 2017) at Cambridge Place Assisted Living, where she had resided for just over one year. She was born September 29, 1920 to James Bishard and Alice Marie (Reasoner) Bishard. She graduated from Brown High School in 1939. Alice retired from the former Cambridge State Hospital, where she served as an LPN. She had also worked at RCA. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Guernsey County Senior Citizens, Golden 60s, and the NRA. She especially enjoyed crocheting, Bible study, and singing. Alice was a member of the Antrim United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school classes for over fifty years. She was a member of Antrim United Methodist Women and served in many different offices including president, secretary, and treasurer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, whom she married December 24, 1939; an infant son; two sisters, Juanita Anderson and Zerelda Bishard; four brothers, James, Clarence, Robert, and Walter Bishard; and three infant siblings. She is survived by four children, Jeanetta Wells of Columbus, Martha Ann (& William) Ford of Cambridge, Charles Cramblett of Quaker City, and James (& Sherry) Cramblett of Quaker City; three grandsons, William Bruce (& Kim) Ford of Cambridge, James Ford of Cambridge, and Brad Cramblett of Quaker City; three granddaughters, Kelly (& Jon) Mitchell of Columbus, Amy (& John) Mohler of Zanesville, and Jenny Rose of Duncan Falls; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday (February 7, 2017) from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Wednesday (February 8, 2017) at 11 a.m. with Evang. Woody Biggs officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
