Alonzo Hardy Sr.

Alonzo Hardy Sr., 78, of Cambridge, died Monday (April 19, 2010) at his home. He was born March 24, 1932 in Cambridge, son of the late Lewis E. and Louella Hardy. Mr. Hardy was a self-employed construction worker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cindy Hardy; a son, Jerry Hardy; eight brothers; three sisters; and his companion, Phyllis (Harden) Hardy. He is survived by five sons, Kenny Hardy of Cambridge, Brian Hardy of Cambridge, Steve Hardy of South Carolina, Alonzo Hardy Jr. of Scio and Buddy Ball of Cambridge; two daughters, Rose (& Will) Dennison of New Philadelphia and Angel McKinney of Cambridge; fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday (April 21, 2010) at 11 a.m. with Rev. Randolph White officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
