Amanda "Mandy" Bay, 29, of Cambridge, passed away Monday (December 29, 2008) at the Cambridge Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 29, 1979 in Cambridge, daughter of Alan Bay and the late Josephine (Mihalik) Bay, who passed away in 1997. Miss Bay was a 1998 graduate of John Glenn High School. She attended Baldwin-Wallace for two years, where she sang in the gospel choir at the college. She later attended Kent State University majoring in speech pathology. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Joe Mihalik Sr. and her paternal grandmother, Matilda Bay. She leaves her father, Alan Bay of Cambridge; a brother, Anthony Bay of Zanesville; her maternal grandmother, Josephine Mihalik of Cambridge; her paternal grandfather, Ernest Eugene "Gene" Bay of Lore City; and several aunts, uncles & cousins. Family and friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where wake services will begin at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday (January 3, 2009) at 10 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church with Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to (1) Hospice of Guernsey, Inc., P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725; or (2) St. Benedict Catholic Church, 701 Gomber Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
