Andrew "Andy" David Koval, 72, of Cambridge, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Southeastern Med on December 22, 2023.
He was born to the late Andrew P. and Betty Koval on February 14, 1951, in Cambridge, Ohio. He graduated from Guernsey Catholic Central High School and went on to obtain his bachelor's degree in computer science from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. After graduating, he worked for many years as a computer programmer and was still working at Ridge Tool in Cambridge, Ohio up until he passed. Andy enjoyed being active in his younger years - playing tennis and running. He was a devout Christian and enjoyed Bible study with his friends every Sunday. He also enjoyed playing video games and spending quality time with his grandchildren.
Andy is survived by his wife, Cynthia Koval; and only child, Carly Hager (Sam). He is also survived by five siblings - Rebecca Perry (Jack), Timothy Koval, Melissa Koval, Jolene Crum (Bob) and Jamie Sakach (Brian). He is also survived by two grandchildren with whom he made an amazing impact, Logan Vorhies and Chloe Calder, and is also survived by a special nephew Jerod Koval, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Andy was a great father and grandfather. He went out of his way to ensure that his daughter and grandchildren felt loved by spending his time and energy on them. Andy loved being around people and enjoyed having conversations with others about Christianity, politics, and world topics. He had a way of allowing his inner child to come out by playing video games and being silly around others. His memory will be forever etched in the hearts of his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with location to be determined. Please reach out to his daughter, Carly Hager, at ck08080706@hotmail.com if you would be interested in attending so that she may keep you updated with details.
