Anita Jean Headley

January 17, 1927 — April 3, 2014

Anita Jean Headley, 87, of Kettering, died Thursday (April 3, 2014) at the Walnut Creek Nursing Center of Kettering.

She was born January 17, 1927 in Athens, daughter of the late Frank Atkins Murrey and Bernice (Currey) Murrey.

Mrs. Headley was a homemaker.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church of Cambridge.

Mrs. Headley graduated from Gilmore High School in West Virginia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Headley, who died July 4, 2002. They were married on December 27, 1947. Also deceased are two brothers, Robert C. Murrey and Carl Surface; and a sister, Betty Parish.

She is survived by a daughter Diane (& Phil) Grimes of Dayton; two grandchildren, Adam and Becky both of Columbus; two brothers, Frank (& Ann) Murrey and Bruce (& Emma) Murrey both of Sandyville WV; a sister, Frances (& Quentin) Balser of Ripley WV; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn (& Ed) Archer of Winter Garden FL and Ruth (& Dave) Barnes of Madison AL; and many nieces, nephews, and loving cousins.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (April 8, 2014) from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Karen Rawlins officiating.

Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
