Ann B Cale

Ann B. Cale, 98, of Cambridge, died Friday (January 31, 2014) at Beckett House at New Concord. She was born June 13, 1915 in Lewisville, daughter of the late Alex E. Burkhart and Mary T. (Kuhn) Burkhart. Mrs. Cale had worked at the former Davis Department Store as the ladies' department manager and also as a sales clerk at the former Spillman Drug Store. She was a former member of the Cambridge VFW Auxiliary and Women of the Moose. She enjoyed going to both clubs and playing cards. She was a graduate of Lewisville High School. Mrs. Cale was Methodist by faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Cale, who died March 29, 1986. They were married on January 19, 1942. Also deceased is a brother, Orville A. Burkhart. She is survived by a son, Greg P. (Tracy) Cale of Norwich; two daughters, Deborah (Dan) Tedrick of Grover Beach CA and Elaine (Tom) Szymaniak of Gilead NC; six grandchildren, Tisha Tedrick, Skyler (Abbi) Patton, Doug Szymaniak, Wendy Watson, Sarah (Ray) Moore, and Corey Cale; five great-grandchildren, Derick, Gwen, Carri, Dylan, and Colton; and two great-great-grandchildren, Blaise and Cooper. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Wednesday (February 5, 2014) at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at Senecaville Cemetery.
