Anna Ruth Johnson

Anna Ruth Johnson, 83, passed away Friday (September 19, 2014) at Cambridge Developmental Center. She was born April 18, 1931 in Fairfax AL, daughter of the late Robert and Bernice (Hodo) Johnson. She was Baptist by faith. She enjoyed going to church and Bible study. Anna Ruth lived in her home since 1946. She enjoyed visiting the Senior Center to play bingo. She had a love for coloring, looking at magazines, splashing in the pool, walks, and being involved in the community. When she received a gift or card, she would enthusiastically respond with "Hot dog! For me!". In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Johnson. She is survived by two nieces, Renee Johnson of Evergreen Park IL and Cheryl Johnson of Chicago IL; a sister-in-law, Arzelia Shelby of Chicago IL; and many friends and family at the Cambridge Developmental Center. Visitation will be held Wednesday (September 24, 2014) from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Cambridge Developmental Center, where funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
