Anna Ombler, 89, of Streetsboro, died Sunday (July 17, 2011) at her home. She was born July 9, 1922 in Cavalier County ND, daughter of the late Lewis Peterson and Ula (Loehr) Peterson. She retired from the Cleveland Clinic, where she was an LPN. Mrs. Ombler was a US Navy veteran, having served during WWII. She was a member of the Women in the Military Service for America Memorial. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Franklin Ombler, who died January 4, 1997. They were married August 23, 1944. Two brothers are also deceased. She is survived by a daughter, Judy (& Bernie) Thomas of Streetsboro; a brother, John Peterson of Thief River Falls MN; twelve grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Monday (July 25, 2011) from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. A graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge, with Jim Gibson officiating and the Guernsey County Veterans Council conducting military honors.
