Annabell Haynes

Annabell Haynes, 84, of Cambridge, died Saturday (June 7, 2014) at Autumn Healthcare. She was born August 10, 1929 in Guernsey County, daughter of the late William and Hattie McManaway. Annabell spent countless years accompanying her late husband, Russell B Haynes Jr., traveling throughout the State of Ohio and the country working with the Veterans of Foreign Wars to help advance the cause of servicemen and women. Mrs. Haynes served with the ladies auxiliary of local VFW post 2901 for numerous years. In addition, she was the Voice of Democracy and Americanism chairperson for the district. Annabell could often be seen passing out American flags at parades and events across the area. Annabell was the youngest of twelve McManaway children. In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her five brothers George, William, Leroy, John, and Lester; and her six sisters, Bertha, Ethel, Helen, Elizabeth, Emily, and Leota. She is survived by her son, Monty Haynes and daughter-in-law Beth of Pataskala, Ohio; son David Haynes and daughter-in-law Jane Ann of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Karen, David, Travis, Ryan, and Jennifer. Additionally she has eight great grandchildren. Visitation will be on Friday, June 13th from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday June 14th with Rev. Mark Slay officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memorial Gardens.
