Anthony "Tony" Ray Mingione

Anthony "Tony" Ray Mingione, 66, of Cambridge, died Saturday (January 5, 2019) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge, after a heroic battle with multiple myeloma.

He was born August 23, 1952 in Cambridge, son of the late Frank H. Mingione and Eva Eileen (Nunley) Mingione.

Tony was a 1970 graduate of Cambridge High School and was a natural athlete, good at anything he tried.

Tony was a plumber, electrician, handyman, and jack-of-all trades. He was a former member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union. He was a former employee of Edgetech and retired from Quanex in Cambridge.

He loved spending time with his family.

He lived for fishing and fishing helped him live.

Tony was a member of Christ Our Light Parish.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank G. Mingione and Tom Mingione.

He is survived by his loving wife of forty-seven years, Barbara (Long) Mingione, whom he married October 9, 1971; a son, Matthew Mingione (& Sara Sukalich) of Columbus; three daughters, Juliet (& Rick) Carey of Columbus, Emily Mingione of Cambridge, and Monica Mingione (& Matthew Bernhard); five grandchildren, Glicerio, Joyce, Anthony, Samson, and Maya; three nephews, Anthony, Frank, and Steven; and three nieces, Amy, Keli, and Kimberly.

Visitation will be held Tuesday (January 8, 2019) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Additional visitation will be held Wednesday (January 9, 2019) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday (January 9, 2019) at 12 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, with Father Paul Hrezo officiating.

The family has specifically requested no flowers be sent. Instead, the family suggests memorial contributions in Tony's name be sent to either 1) St. Vincent DePaul Society, c/o Christ Our Light Parish, 701 Gomber Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725 http://www.colsvdp.org/ or 2) The Guernsey County Cancer Society, 927 E Wheeling Avenue - Suite 205, Cambridge OH 43725.
