Arthur Robert Clemenson

April 20, 1933 — February 1, 2017

Better known as "Mr. C" across Cambridge, Art dedicated his life to bettering his community and giving back to those around him. In his younger years, he served as a US Marine reservist and received his Bachelors and Masters of Education from Ohio University. Art spent 46 years as an educator, touching most facets of the field of Education, with his last 16 years of his career as the Principal of Lincoln Elementary. As an educator, he was deeply invested not only in the education of his students, but the betterment of their lives. He truly bled Bobcat Blue. After retirement, Art never missed a beat continuing to serve as part of the Cambridge City Council, Guernsey County Democrat Club, Salvation Army Board and 32 nd degree Mason member of Scottish Rite, just to name a few. He was named to the Senior Citizen Hall of Fame in 2007 for his activity in the community and served on a number different boards. Art was also a deeply religious man and a long-time member of St. Paul's CME. Art will be remembered for his never faulting cheery disposition, always singing and bringing his positive energy to those around him.

Everyone who knew Art also knew that he considered his wife of 26 years, Rosemary Christie Clemenson, his angel. Art and Rosemary were married on January 21 st and spent their years together matching wits with their nightly Jeopardy battles and simply enjoying the company of one another. Art was also an avid card shark and would play as much Euchre as time would allow.
