Barbara Byrne, 90, of Cambridge, died Wednesday (December 5, 2012) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born May 28, 1922 in Yonkers NY, daughter of the late John Fennick and Frances (Masko) Fennick. Mrs. Byrne had worked at Anaconda Wire and Cable of Hastings NY for several years. She also served as the administrative assistant for seventeen years to the Village Administrator of Briarcliff Manor in Westchester County NY. She was a proficient stenographer and typist. Mrs. Byrne was a member of Christ Our Light Parish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Byrne, who died in 2008; and a sister, Jody Leitch. She is survived by two sons, Joe (& Vickie) Byrne of New Hampshire and Jim (& Ann) Byrne of Cambridge; two sisters, Frances Alexander of New Jersey and Rosemarie Kovac of New York; and four grandchildren, Joe Byrne of New Hampshire, Kelly Byrne of Blacklick, Colleen (& Mike) Altvater of Baltimore, and Patrick Byrne of Cincinnati. Family and friends may call on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday (December 7, 2012) at 11 a.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Cambridge, with Father Robert Borer officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Barbara's name to either St. Benedict Catholic School or Christ Our Light Parish, 701 Gomber Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
