Barbara Ann Hartley, 70, of Quaker City, died Monday (October 17, 2016) at Wheeling Medical Park Hospital. She was born October 5, 1946 in Cambridge, daughter of Mary (Roe) Shepherd-Harris and the late Ralph Shepherd. Mrs. Hartley had worked for forty-six years in banking, retiring from WesBanco. A 1964 graduate of Shenandoah High School, she was a member of the school's first graduating class. Mrs. Hartley was a great cook and cake baker. She loved going out to eat. She was a member of the East Main Church of Christ, Barnesville. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a niece, Tiffany Herwick. She is survived by her husband, Donald Hartley, whom she married September 16, 1972; her mother, Mary (Roe) Shepherd-Harris of Barnesville; a brother, Greg Shepherd of Old Washington; three sisters, Nancy (& Craig) Herwick, Sue (& Brent) Fisher, and Lynn (& Dave) Barr all of Barnesville; two brothers-in-law, Larry Hartley of Cambridge and Carl (& Evelyn) Hartley of Marietta; two sisters-in-law, Kathy (& Dave) Miser of Pleasant City and Linda Hartley of Quaker City; five nephews, Matthew Hissom, Justin Shepherd, Michael Fisher, James Miser, and Jeffrey Miser; six nieces, Amy Eltringham, Gwen Crum, Susie Shelton, Stacey Wise, Leah Braun, and Michelle Cunningham; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be held Thursday (October 20, 2016) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held Friday (October 21, 2016) at 11 a.m. with Evang. Kim McFarland and Evang. Val Roxby officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. As an expression of sympathy, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Building Fund at East Main Church of Christ, 329 E South Street, Barnesville OH 43713.
