Barbara June Vorhies

Barbara June Vorhies, 83, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (April 28, 2015) at her home. She was born March 31, 1932 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Hal Webb and Emma (Barbee) Webb. Mrs. Vorhies retired from Rogers Manufacturing. She loved cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She spent a lot of time comforting others at Cambridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, where her husband resides. Mrs. Vorhies was a member of Stop Nine Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Martinez and Mary Jane Clum; and five brothers, Floyd, Frank, William, Frederick, and Robert Webb. She is survived by her husband, James Arthur Vorhies; two sons, Samuel (& Carol) Vorhies of Akron and James (& Lori) Vorhies Jr. of Pleasant City; a daughter, Anita (& Byron) Dickinson of New Concord; a sister, Betty Campbell of Cambridge; nine grandchildren, Samuel Jr., Brian, Justin, Andrew, Eric, Stephanie, Melanie, Cory, and Susan; and ten great-grandchildren, Zachary, Ryan, Lillian, Jayden, Reed, Cash, Malachi, Ezekiel, Eva, and Isaac. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Friday (May 1, 2015) at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
