Barry Lee Godwin, 63, of Quaker City, died Sunday (February 6, 2011) at his home. He was born December 8, 1947 in Akron, son of the late Claude Lee Godwin and Bertha Lucille (Shaffer) Godwin. Mr. Godwin retired from Whiteside's Auto Dealers, where he had worked as a salesman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Cambridge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William; and a sister, Michelle. He is survived by his wife, Kay (Dobbins) Godwin of the home, whom he married September 27, 1975; a son, Ronald Scott Godwin of Texas; a daughter, Karla Kay Warrick of Quaker City; a sister, Tammy Wilson of Akron; three grandchildren, Trent, Shelby, and Ayla Warrick; and two step-sons, Jerry Lutz of Akron and Jimmy Lutz of Barberton. Family and friends may call on Friday (February 11, 2011) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m.
