Beatrice "Sis" Christman

December 8, 1950 — June 9, 2012

Beatrice "Sis" Christman, 61, of Quaker City, died Saturday (June 9, 2012) at her home following a struggle with cancer. She was born December 8, 1950 in Barnesville, daughter of the late Donald Simeral and Esther (Clary) Simeral. Mrs. Christman was a former employee of 5-B's and also Riesbeck's Bakery. She was Protestant by faith. She was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing. Mrs. Christman was a 1968 graduate of Zane Trace High School and she earned an associate's degree from Belmont Tech. She is survived by her husband, Ellis Christman, whom she married August 1, 1969; two sons, Devin (& Johnna) Christman of Byesville and Dusty Christman of Cambridge; a brother, Donald Ray (& Ann) Simeral of Quaker City; her close friends, David and Connie Bunting of Barnesville; and three granddaughters, Alexis, Caitlyn, and Madyson Christman. Family and friends may call on Tuesday (June 12, 2012) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Christman's name to the Quaker City Fire Department, 126 Fair Street, Quaker City OH 43773.
