Bernard E. Black Sr., 77, of Cambridge, died Saturday (March 29, 2014) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 25, 1937 in Cambridge, son of the late Harold Black and Elnora (Siddle) Black.
Mr. Black had worked at the former Bruney-LaMarca (Whiteside's of Cambridge) for over forty years as a mechanic.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara (Hostutler) Black, who died in 1999; his second wife, Ica Mae (Hardy) Black, who died in 2010; three sisters, Sally Trenner, Evelyon Valentine, and Violet Price; and a brother, Harold Black Jr.
He is survived by three sons, Bernard Black Jr. of Cambridge, Dwaine (& Spring) Black of Cumberland, and Steven Black of San Francisco CA; a daughter, Joyce (& Steven) Meighen of Cambridge; four brothers, Arthur (& Terri) Black, Raymond Black, Rocky Black, and Rick (& Margaret) Black all of Cambridge; two sisters, Barbara (& Richard) Hewison and Diane McKinney both of Cambridge; six grandchildren, Amber Baker, Matthew (Kristen) Meighen, Karissa Meighen, Kristin Black, Eric Black, and Hannah Black; three great-grandchildren, Kendall Baker, Brennen Meighen, and Brycen Meighen; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Wednesday (April 2, 2014) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Martin Hennessy officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Herman Cemetery.
