Bethann Standiford, 53, of Cambridge, died unexpectedly from the result of an aneurism on Thursday (August 13, 2009) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born August 5, 1956 in Columbus, daughter of James Albert Link and Elizabeth Jean (Ryan) Link. Mrs. Standiford was a teacher for thirty-one years with the Cambridge City School District. She was a Reading Recovery Literacy teacher for Central Elementary School. A graduate of Whetstone High School and Bowling Green State University, she received her Master's Degree from Ohio University and also had attended Muskingum College. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Cambridge. Bethann was a devoted mother, wife, sister, sister-in-law, friend, aunt and teacher. She was an avid scrapbooker and very active with her church and the Y.M.C.A. She was also an active booster in all of her boys' activities. Bethann is survived by her husband, Craig Standiford, whom she married on July 18, 1987; two sons, Brian Standiford and Ben Standiford; three brothers, Jim (& Linda) Link of Dublin, Bob Link of St. Louis MO and Jeff (& Patti) Link of Columbus; a brother-in-law, Les (& Kimberly) Standiford of Miami FL; several nieces, nephews and many close friends in Cambridge. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Monday (August 17, 2009) at 10 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Alan Bevere officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Elementary Literacy Program, 1115 Clairmont Avenue, Cambridge OH 43725.
