Betty June (Jenkins) Butcher, 87, of Cambridge passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024, at Southeastern Medical Center.
She was born October 29, 1936, in Sutton, West Virginia, a daughter to the late Pleasant and Pearl Ada Jenkins.
Betty enjoys cooking, reading romance novels, watching Western movies, and fishing. She was a cook at local schools and waitress at the Winterset Restaurant and was a Christian by faith. Betty was considered a mother to everyone.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Butcher, whom she married March 31, 1956, and who passed March 14, 2014; her sons, John Jenkins and Richard Butcher; her daughters, Joyce Michaels and Theresa Robey; and grandsons, Joey Lattea, Justin Butcher, and Matthew.
She is survived by her sons, Fred (Nancy) Butcher of Friendsville, TN and Randy Butcher, of Cambridge; her daughter, Cindy Mulinix of Cambridge; her sister, Patty Grubbs of Clay City, WV; 20 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren; 1 great- great grandchild; her sons- in- law, Leonard Robey, Mark Michaels, Emlous Lattea, and Jack Mulinix; and her daughters- in- law, Tracie Cox, Kay Jenkins, Anita Butcher and Denise Butcher.
Visitation will be Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 3PM to 5PM with the service at 5PM at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge.
