Betty Jane (Yoders) McKain, 80, of Quaker City, died Thursday (February 11, 2010) at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge. She was born December 19, 1929 in Bridgeport WV, daughter of the late Clarence Yoders and Laura (Bell) Yoders. She married Kyle L. McKain on October 5, 1945. Mrs. McKain retired from Station Electronics in Uniontown OH, where she had been a supervisor for many years. She was a member of the Old Washington Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Oak Hill Presbyterian Church of Akron. She enjoyed bowling at King Pin Lanes and golfing at Wildfire. She also enjoyed painting and gardening. Mrs. McKain was a member of the Eastern Star Lodge # 211. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle L. McKain, who died November 6, 2007; a son, Kenneth Corey McKain; a daughter, Denise Ann Love; and a sister. She is survived by a son, Kyle E. (& Joan) McKain of Bullard TX; a daughter, Carolyn June Derrig of Quaker City; two sisters, Annabelle Grogg and Nadine Grogg both of Bridgeport WV; eleven grandchildren, Kyle R. McKain, Karen R. McKain, Konnie R. McKain, Kevin R. McKain, David P. Derrig, Andrew F. Derrig, Mark R. Derrig, Laura M. Grygorcewicz, Melissa A. Love, Heather Garza and Nathan McKain; and seventeen great-grandchildren. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, with Eastern Star services beginning at 5 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Monday (February 15, 2010) at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Worcester officiating. Burial will be at Hillside Memorial Gardens, Akron. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made in Betty's name to Hospice of Guernsey Inc., PO Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
