Betty Pauline Ronshausen

March 13, 1922 — March 6, 2017

Betty Pauline (Thomas) Ronshausen, 94, of Cambridge, died Monday (March 6, 2017) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born March 13, 1922 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Merrill Thomas and Edna "Cookie" (Patterson) Thomas. Born and raised in Cambridge, she was a very active member of the First Christian Church. She was a graduate of Brown High School and The Cameo School of Cosmetology in Zanesville. She married James "Jimmy" Ronshausen, an oil & gas driller and producer in the Cambridge area, on September 19, 1941.  Together, they raised seven children. Betty worked with her two sisters styling hair at June Elaine's Wave Shop, then at Glamour Manor, before opening her own salon, Hairhunters on Steubenville Avenue in Cambridge.  She operated this salon until she was seventy-eight years old. She loved playing the piano at church and taught Sunday School for many years.  Her church played a large role in her life, as did her family.  She loved music, played many instruments (including the piano, organ, accordion, and xylophone), and sang in the choir.  Her hobbies were baking, music, singing, and cooking.  She was well known for her kind nature, always helping others as she lived her life according to her Christian beliefs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Ronshausen, who died January 26, 2011.  Also deceased is a brother, William Thomas; and a sister, Patricia Oliver. She is survived by her children, Connie (& Michael) Lang of Osprey FL, Brent (& Claudia) Ronshausen of Port Charlotte FL, Kay (& John) Nicolozakes of Cambridge, Betty Carol (& Michael) Paden of Grove City, Jeri Whiteleather of Parkersburg WV, Bob (& Roz) Ronshausen of Buckeye Lake, and Brad (& Misty) Ronshausen of Cambridge; two brothers, Leonard Thomas of Cambridge and Lowell Thomas of Cambridge, a sister, June Armstrong of Gahanna (formerly of Cambridge); fifteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Wednesday (March 8, 2017) from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the First Christian Church, (1127 Beatty Avenue,  Cambridge), where funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev.
