Betty Lou (Sickles) Hardy

Betty Lou (Sickles) Hardy, 79, of Cambridge, died Thursday (May 31, 2018) at her home.

She was born Dec. 9, 1938 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William Sickles and Alice Sara (Maple) Sickles.

She was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Sickles Jr. and Earnest Sickles; and five sisters, Irene McDonald, Faye Ruby, Mary Valentine, Jacqueline Bullock, and Pearl Kenny.

She is survived by four sons, Ernest Phillips Jr. of Cambridge, Richard (Karen) Hardy of Derwent, Bobby (Jennifer) Earley of Cambridge, and Michael (Angie) Earley of Byesville; four daughters, Alice Hardy of Cambridge, Sarah (Ron) Phillips of Cambridge, Nancy Hardy of Cambridge, and Cathy (Ray) Smith of Cambridge; a sister, Lucille Sharrock; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be private, and at the convenience of the family. Thorn-Black Funeral Home in Cambridge is handling arrangements.
