Betty Marie Slifko

Betty Marie Slifko, 79, of Cambridge, died Monday (February 1, 2010) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born October 13, 1930 in Cambridge, daughter of the late William Jackson and Mahala (Showalter) Jackson. Mrs. Slifko was a homemaker and loving mother. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards. She was a 1948 graduate of Brown High School. Mrs. Slifko was a member of Christ Our Light Parish. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Slifko Sr., who died April 14, 2006. They were married August 18, 1951. Also deceased are eight brothers and two sisters. She is survived by a son, William (& Susan) Slifko of Cambridge; three daughters, Joyce (& Randy) Spencer of Cambridge, Martha (& Fred) Hannon of Byesville and Marsha (& William) Berry of Cambridge; a sister, Darlene Harding of Dublin; nine grandchildren, Anna Slifko, Julia Slifko, Kimberly Slifko, Sally (& Jeff) Spencer-Dyer, Elaine Spencer, Joseph Hannon, Jeffrey Hannon, Faith Berry and Branson Berry; three great-grandchildren, Evan Spencer, Max Spencer and Carter Dyer; and a step-great-grandson, Matthew Dyer. Private services will be held for the family at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
