Betty Tipton

August 27, 1920 — October 21, 2018

Betty Tipton, 98, of Cambridge, passed away Sunday (October 21, 2018) at the Beckett House of New Concord.

She was born August 27, 1920 in Doddridge County WV, daughter of the late Curtis & Gladys Glaspell.

Mrs. Tipton was a member of the First Methodist Church and the Come By Here Circle of Cambridge.

She retired from Champion Spark Plug after twenty-seven years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Dwayne Tipton. He passed away April 9, 1995. Also deceased is a brother, Waitman Glaspell; a sister, Lucille Nelson; and a grandson, Sgt. David Mark Tipton.

She is survived by three sons, Reese (& Barbara) Tipton, Tom (& Mary Ellen) Tipton, and Scott (& Susan) Tipton all of Cambridge; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; and her special friend, Eleanor Long.

Visitation will be held Thursday (October 25, 2018) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tina Gallaher officiating.

Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
