Bonnie Brown Godby

Bonnie Brown Godby, 83, of Cambridge, passed away Monday (April 8, 2013) at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge. She was born August 4, 1929 in Zanesville, daughter of the late Edward Brown and Clara (Lear) Brown. She was a homemaker. She enjoyed shopping, gardening, and spending the winters in Florida. She was an excellent cook and baker. She cherished spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by four brothers and a sister. She is survived by a son, William Godby of Salesville; a daughter, Cheryl (& John) Smith of New Concord; seven grandchildren, Lori Godby, Sherri Shipley, Jenny Ward, John W. Smith, Jason Smith, Jeannie Vermillion, and Ashley Wells; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; her former husband, William C. Godby Sr. of Salesville; and her many pet dogs. Family and friends may call on Friday (April 12, 2013) from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. with Pastor Donald Glass officiating. Burial will be at East Union Presbyterian Cemetery.
