Brenda Kay (Chute) Dragosin, 73, went home to be with the lord on Wednesday, January 11th, 2023. Brenda passed away peacefully and surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 23, 1949, and was raised in Wheeling, WV. After marrying her husband Terry on July 8, 1978, she moved to Ohio where they raised their family together.
She was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret (Futey) Chute, and the beloved wife of Terry for nearly 38 years, until his death in 2017.
Brenda will be remembered and sadly missed by her cherished daughters Stacey (Joseph) Snider and Tiffany (Justin) Stoolfire, both of New Concord; her treasured grandchildren Mason Adam who lovingly became her personal nurse and biggest advocate, Porter Joseph, Brielle Nicole, Keaton Daniel, Rogan Jacob, and Dawson Micah Snider; and Adelle Kaelyn and Brinley Justine Stoolfire; her thoughtful brother Ted (Marie) Chute; her loving sister-in-law Lynn Marks; and countless other family members and friends who were blessed to know her.
In addition to her parents, she has joined her husband and best friend Terry Dragosin in Heaven. She was also preceded in death by special aunts Mary Ward and Elizabeth Keylor and her canine children Cinders, Muffin, Toby and Rascal.
Brenda was an amazing caregiver. Throughout her life she lovingly made taking care of her children, grandchildren, mother, in-laws, and finally her husband her full-time job. Family was everything to Brenda. She worked hard to provide magical childhood memories for her children and grandchildren and dedicated her life to them. She was talented in sewing, cake decorating, cooking and baking. Whether it was her famous lasagna or her pineapple lime cheesecake, you didn't leave Brenda's house hungry. Even as her health began to fail and she cooked less, she made sure to keep a well-stocked freezer full of popsicles for her grandbabies during pool season! She cherished the little things- weekly Friday pizza nights, dinners with the whole family at the Forum, yearly summer vacations to Ocean City with everyone together in a condo on the beach and singing "Oldie Goldies" with her husband. She will also be remembered for her caring heart and willingness to do anything to help anyone, as well as her beautiful smile.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, January 15th from 5-8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, 139 S 9th Street, Cambridge. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with old friend David Cater officiating. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery, Cambridge.
