Calvin E. Reed

Calvin E. Reed, 78, of Quaker City, died Wednesday (August 25, 2021) at Southeastern Med, Cambridge.

He was born July 10, 1943 in Dorothy WV, son of the late Dempsy Reed and Lottie (Frame) Reed.

Mr. Reed retired from Filmco R.J. Reynolds Plastics Company.  He was also a retired minister.

He was a member of the Powhatan Point Lighthouse Church of God.

Mr. Reed enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.  He was quite the "outdoors" person.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Theodore and Donald Reed; and two sisters, Christine Butler and Barbara Toth.

He is survived by his wife, Priscillia Ann (Griffith) Reed, whom he married December 1, 1964; a son, Jeff (Jaime) Reed of Mogadore; two daughters, Kimberly Blankenship of Kent and Tina (Tom) Swanson of Quaker City; four brothers, Dencil (Joanne) Reed of Ovapa WV, Sam Reed of Frametown WV, Melvin (Janice) Reed of Quaker City, and Dan Reed of Kent; two sisters, Betty Arbogast of Kent and Evelyn Groesbeck of Boise ID; five grandchildren, Kristina Lee, Mackenzie Blankenship, Austin Blankenship, Austin Reed, and Tiffany Carr; three great-grandchildren, Colton Lee, Addy Lee, and Mabel Lee; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held Monday (August 30, 2021) from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Living Water Fellowship Church, Quaker City, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with Bishop Bryan Mathews officiating.

Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery, Quaker City.
