Carl E. Kennedy

Carl E. Kennedy, 81, of Oklahoma and formerly of Cambridge, passed from this life November 9, 2015. He was born on January 1, 1934 in Cambridge, son of the late Wallace and Alice (Mourer) Kennedy. He graduated from Cambridge High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Lewis Washington. He completed his six years of service to the U.S. Army with a transfer to the U.S. Army Corps Reserve in Zanesville. While in the Army, he received a Good Conduct Medal and a letter of Accommodation from Brigadier General Steinbach. He began his career as a traffic manager and production scheduler for Phillips Products in Cambridge. He then changed careers and studied for the ministry at Oral Roberts University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree with a major in Biblical Literature and minor in Theology in 1977 and a Master of Divinity Degree in 1989. He was a minister in the United Methodist Church and served as a missionary in Albania and China. Carl is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of many years, Judy; three daughters, Diana Johnson and her husband Joe, Lynn Lasson and her husband Chris, and Sharon Casillas and her husband Mark; his grandchildren, Christopher and Andrew Johnson, Scott Lasson and Heather Lasson Sanders, Kristen and Katelyn Casillas; and his great-grandchildren, Gavin and Reece Johnson. Funeral services will be held at Flat Ridge Community Church, Rt. 658, on Saturday (November 14, 2015) at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Flat Ridge Cemetery.
