Carl Dean Roe

June 4, 1937 — October 13, 2006

Carl Dean Roe, 69, of Senecaville, passed away Friday (October 13, 2006) at his home. He was born June 4, 1937 in Senecaville, son of the late Robert Roe and Lela (Bates) Roe. Mr. Roe retired after thirty-two years with the Ohio Department of Transportation. He was a long-time farmer. He was a 1955 graduate of Batesville High School and a member of Quaker City Church of Christ. He was involved with Operation Helping Others with the Guernsey-Muskingum Electric Co-operative for many years. He was also active with 4-H. Mr. Roe was a member of the Noble County Cattlemen's Association. He was an avid farmer, fisherman, hunter and golfer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Roe and an infant brother, Grant Roe; and three sisters, Margie Hodge, Pauline Carpenter and Myrtle Betts. He leaves his wife, Betty Lou (Pearson) Roe of the home, whom he married November 13, 1962; three sons, Mark A. (& Darlene) Roe of Senecaville, Timothy R. (& Marjorie) Roe of Byesville and J. Lloyd (& Melinda) Roe of Quaker City; two sisters, Mary Harris of Woodsfield and Melba Flood of Batesville; ten grandchildren, Amanda (& Anthony) Stephens, Tracy, Heidi, Lisa, Nathan, Debra, Mallory, Kevin, Allen and Rachel Roe; two great-grandchildren, Lydia and Isaiah Stephens; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be held Tuesday (October 17, 2006) at 11 a.m. with Evang. Dana Slingluff officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. Memorial contributions may be made to: (1) Hospice of Guernsey Inc., P.O.
