Carlton "Carl" Jackman, 96, of Cambridge, died Thursday (April 19, 2012) at the Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge. He was born December 12, 1915 in Petersburg VA, son of the late Theodore Emery Jackman and Cora Estella (Archer) Jackman. Carl learned the plumbing trade from his father and was a pipe fitter for Union Local 485. He worked on the Salt Fork Lodge and the Conesville Power Plant. He enjoyed camping, travelling, and gardening. He loved his dog. Carl will be remembered for his wisdom, love, and devotion to his family. He was Methodist by faith. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Marge (Bitz) Jackman, who died in 1970; three brothers, Clarence, Forest, and Fred Jackman; and a niece, Vivian Jeffery. He is survived by his wife, Josephine (Sills) Jackman, whom he married July 28, 1972; a step-daughter, Patricia (& Bob) Shivers of Las Vegas NV; a sister, June Boyer of Cambridge; two nieces, Marla Calvert and Sherry Lawrence both of Cambridge; two nephews, Don Jackman and Larry Boyer both of Cambridge; and several great-nieces & great-nephews all of Cambridge. Following Carl's wishes, no calling hours were observed. A private funeral service was held for the family on Saturday (April 21, 2012). Rev. Keith Peachey officiated the service. Burial was at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
