Carol Bowers

Carol Bowers, 71, of New Concord, died Thursday (August 27, 2015) at her home. She was born December 14, 1943 in Pleasant City, daughter of the late Rolland Dudley and Wanda (Larrick) Dudley. Ms. Bowers had worked at Hamilton Beach-Westinghouse and later at Lumi-Lite of Norwich. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, and watching old television shows. She was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. She cherished spending time with her family. Ms. Bowers was a member of the Cambridge Four-Square Church. She was a 1961 graduate of Sarahsville High School. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Al Dudley; and two sisters, Nola Rottmeyer and Charlotte Dudley. She is survived by a son, Vincent (& Jean) Bowers of North Pole AK; a daughter, Luann (& Roger) Taylor of New Concord; a brother, Clarence "Bud" (& Diana) Dudley of Pleasant City; eight grandchildren, Debbie Halsey (& Aaron Kawa) of New Concord, Bethany (& Randy) Campbell of New Concord, Niki (& Jesse) Alford of Alaska, Erica Snell of New Concord, Vincent Bowers Jr. of Alaska, Alyssa Taylor of New Concord, Christa Bowers of Alaska, and Amber Bowers of Alaska; and six great-grandchildren, Jonah, Tristan, Dakota, Austin, Keegan, and Addison. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (September 1, 2015) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Anderson and Pastor Marie Hanning officiating. Burial will be at Hoskinsville Cemetery, near Belle Valley.
