Carol Sue McVicker, 63, of Quaker City, passed away Saturday (September 6, 2008) at her home. She was born on October 4, 1944 in Senecaville, daughter of the late Rex Rich and Pauline (Bates) Rich. Mrs. McVicker was a retired school bus driver for East Guernsey Local School District, having worked there for more than twenty years. She was a 1963 graduate of Byesville High School, and a member of the Church of Christ. She was a lifelong member of the Farm Bureau and a loyal supporter of Buckeye Trail High School athletics. She enjoyed crosswords, jigsaw puzzles and collecting glassware. She is survived by her husband, Ray McVicker, whom she married on October 2, 1962; a son, Matt (& Nicole) McVicker of Marengo; three daughters, Theresa (& Michael) Williamson of Little Hocking, Patti (& Mark) Hamlin of Edmond OK and Lori (& Denny) Welfle of Norwalk; two brothers, Don (& Erica) Rich of Marion and Carl (& Janie) Rich of Senecaville; two sisters, Wilma (& Raymond) Roe of Cambridge and Marylou (& Tip) Black of Byesville; seven grandchildren, Chance, Shelby, Elizabeth, Ashley, Shane, Riana and Cecelia; a special cousin, Melba Flood, who helped to raise Carol as a child; and several nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be held on Wednesday (September 10, 2008) at 11 a.m. with Evangelist Jeff Rich officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Hospice of Guernsey, Inc., P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
