Carroll Guiler

Carroll Guiler, 79, of Cambridge, passed away Tuesday (June 17, 2008) surrounded by his family. He was born on September 23, 1928 in Marion Township OH, son of the late Kenneth A. Guiler and Freda (Franklin) Guiler. Mr. Guiler was the parts manager at the former Gibson Supply for nineteen years. He later retired after seventeen years of service with the State of Ohio. Mr. Guiler was a member of the 10th & Clairmont Church of Christ. He was a 1947 graduate of Summerfield High School. Mr. Guiler married Barbara "Irene" (Bates) on September 23, 1949. He cherished spending time with his family. He also enjoyed hunting & fishing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara "Irene" (Bates) Guiler, who passed away on October 6, 2003. He leaves two daughters, Sherry (& Jim) Meredith of Cambridge and Vickie (& Skip) Gardner of Cambridge; a brother, Rev. Myron (& Linda) Guiler of Marietta; a sister, Jolene (& Wayne) Hayes of Caldwell; five grandchildren, Scott (& Beth) Meredith of Cambridge, Tiffany (& Dan) Meronoff of Dayton, Amber (& William) Hamilton of Cambridge, Curtis Figgins of Akron and Chad Gardner of Cambridge; four great-grandchildren, Isabel Meronoff, Abigail Meronoff, Gabrielle Meronoff and Alexandria Hamilton; his in-laws, Kenneth and Wilma Bates of Caldwell & Shirley Sheets of Florida; and many nieces & nephews. Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where services will be held on Friday (June 20, 2008) at 11 a.m. with Evang. Bruce Daugherty and Rev. Myron Guiler officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Guernsey, Inc., P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge OH 43725.
