Catherine Mary Brown

On Sunday, March 14 2021, Catherine Mary Brown, loving wife and mother of eight children, passed away at age 84.

Catherine was born on August 16, 1936 in Newport, RI. She was a factory worker and later worked in the healthcare field. On November 19, 1958, she married Gerald M. Brown Sr. Together they raised eight children, Catherine (Silvia) Ferris, Manuel Silvia, William Silvia, Gerald Jr., Michael, Christopher, Christina Holmes, and Cynthia Hahn.

She was an active member of the VFW serving as the Vice President of the VFW Women's Auxiliary of Barnesville, coordinated Poppy sales during the summer and organized the Children's Christmas parties. In her spare time she enjoyed playing Yahtzee and going bowling.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gerald, daughter Cynthia Hahn and son Michael.

She is survived by her five children Catherine Ferris [Richard Cochrane], Manuel Silvia, Gerald Jr, Christopher and Christina [Ron Taylor], 15 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held for the family at Quaker City, OH.
