Catherine Stokes

Catherine Ilonka Stokes, 72, of Cambridge, died Tuesday (December 24, 2013) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. She was born February 13, 1941 in Vernon FL, daughter of the late Herman Morris and Polly Eve (Morrell) Anderson. She worked as a secretary for most of her life. She also had worked as an aide at the College Park Nursing Home of Newcomerstown. Ms. Stokes was Christian by faith. She was an avid bowler. She loved gardening and enjoyed crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne; and a sister, Kay. She is survived by two sons, Tory Hampton (& Tonja Winland) of Cambridge and Todd (& Therese) Hampton of Newcomerstown; her beloved grandchildren, Donald Ray Stokes, Brittany Warehime, and Zachary Warehime; two step-grandchildren, Candi Huston and Nicole Campbell; a great-grandson, Mason Whatley; two step-great-grandchildren, Mia and David; and a niece, Sherry and her daughter. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Kindred Care of Cambridge and all of the friends she made there. No calling hours will be observed. Funeral services will be held Monday (December 30, 2013) at 10 a.m. at the Northwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
