Catherine Walker

Catherine Walker, 87, of Cambridge, died Friday (November 14, 2014) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. She was born February 26, 1927 in Cambridge, daughter of the late Herman Miller and Catherine (McDonald) Miller. Mrs. Walker had worked at the former Cambridge IGA in the deli department. She was a member of the Ninth Street United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Cambridge VFW Post 2901 Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilfred J. "Will" Walker, who died November 26, 2007. They were married February 22, 1944. Also preceding her in death were four brothers, Herman, Alex, Ronald, and Robert; and a sister, Mary Steele. She is survived by a son, Robert (& Joy) Walker of Lore City; a daughter, Susan (& Tom) Gaton of Cambridge; five grandsons, Steve Walker, Gary Walker, Richard (& Kristi) Walker, Terry Walker (& his companion, Diane), and Scott (& Cathy) Gaton; three great-granddaughters; one great-grandson; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews. Visitation will be held Monday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Tuesday (November 18, 2014) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Karen Rawlins officiating. Burial will be at Guernsey Memory Gardens, Cambridge.
