Catherine M. Yockey, 95, of Quaker City, died Wednesday (April 14, 2021) at Southeastern Med, Cambridge.
She was born October 30, 1925 in Quaker City, daughter of the late Solomon E. Christman Sr. and Viola Marie (Bentz) Christman.
Ms. Yockey worked at Barnesville Hospital as a cook for many years. She had also worked as a night watchman for Jonathan Logan Clothing Factory.
She was a farmer and drove truck. She loved farming, especially bottle feeding her lambs.
She was Methodist by faith.
She loved to visit whenever she could.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, George William "Bill" Yockey; and a brother, Solomon Christman Jr.
She is survived by a son, Robert (Karen) Yockey of Quaker City; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Yockey of Morristown; five grandchildren, Rhonda (Todd) Tisko, Tammy Ceasar, Todd (Tommy) Yockey, Roger (Kari) Yockey, and Rachel (David) Warehime; five great-grandchildren, Maria, Kaylynn, Avari, Natalie, and Austin; and many cousins.
Visitation will be held Friday (April 16, 2021) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where funeral services will be held Saturday (April 17, 2021) at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Family and friends are welcome, but due to COVID-19, FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED. Please take all precautions to ensure your own safety and everyone else's should you decide to attend.
Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City.
