Charlene "Birdie" Potts

Charlene "Birdie" Potts, 90, of Cambridge, passed away on January 1, 2024, at Altercare of Cambridge, surrounded by her family.

She was born on March 15, 1933, in Byesville, a daughter of the late Ralph and Jenny Calhoun.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-two years, Jack Potts, who passed away on November 12, 1997, her only brother, Willard Calhoun, and a great-great granddaughter, Hayden Bristol Hill.

Charlene is survived by her children, Darlene (Jerry) Crippen of Cambridge, and Jack (Kim) Potts of Jefferson, Ohio, her grandchildren, Stacy (Brian) McCoy of Cambridge, Tracy and Beth Presnell of Cambridge, Amanda and Phillip Miller of Byesville, Joey (Kristen) Potts, Christopher Potts, and Nickolas Potts of Jefferson, Ohio, Matthew and Jolene Young, Mark Young, Cody Young and Dominick Fenton of Jefferson, Ohio. Also left to cherish her memory are her great grandchildren, Jason and Kelsey Hill, Josh and Lexi Hill, John Hill, Keeley Presnell, Damond and Cara Miller, Carina and Justin Miller, Ava and River Young, Sophia and Tristian Young, Maddox and Johna Potts, and her great-great grandchildren, Aiden, Klutch, J.J., Zaelee, Karter, John, Liam, Aniyah, Laina, Tucker, and Taylynn, as well as her cat, Bootsie.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024, from 11AM-1PM with the service to immediately follow at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with Evan. Mark Beros officiating. Burial will be held following the service at Greenwood Cemetery in Byesville.
