Charles W. Anker, 67, of Byesville, died Wednesday (February 16, 2011) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born January 6, 1944 in Zanesville, son of the late Russell Anker and Mamie (Van Dyne) Anker Mr. Anker had worked at the former Harper-Hutchison. He owned and operated Anker's Hauling. He also worked as a paper deliveryman for The Daily Jeffersonian. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church of Byesville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Russell Anker; and two sisters, Mildred Phillips and Mahala Moffett. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (Griffith) Anker; a son, Charles Anker of Caldwell; two daughters, Jessica Anker of the home and Cassandra Anker of Zanesville; and a grandson, John Paul Hardgrove. He is also survived by his children from a previous marriage, John, Chuck, David, and Melissa. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held Monday (February 21, 2011) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Joe Summers officiating. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery, Cambridge.
