Charles Martin Ayers, 71, of Lore City passed away Wednesday (March 6, 2013) at his home. He was born June 17, 1941 in Macksburg and was the son of the late Wallace and Inez (Harper) Ayers. Mr. Ayers retired from the Daily Jeffersonian as a rural delivery person and was Methodist by faith. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two step-daughters, Carol Rominger and Barbara Dennis; one great grandchild; three brothers, William and Eugene Ayers and George Harper. He is survived by his wife of thirty seven years Evelyn (Morrison) Ayers whom he married December 25, 1975 one step-son Harry (Jade) Dennis of Seymore, TN; one step-daughter Ruth (Carlos) Nalley of Woodsfield; two brothers, David (Bonnie) Ayers of North Canton and James (Beth) Ayers of Winterset; one sister Brenda (Daniel) Kirk of Canton; one brother-in-law Ray (Joanne) Morrison of Norwich; one sister-in-law Kate Ayers of North Canton; ten grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge where services will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery.
