Charles Ross Bell, 95, of Cambridge, passed away at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his family, on Monday (October 17, 2016). He was born November 15, 1920 in Cambridge, son of the late Edward Bell and Nina (Pollock) Bell Wood. Mr. Bell was a mail carrier for the United States Post Office, retiring in 1986 after thirty-four years of service. He was a member of the Stop Nine Church of Christ. Mr. Bell was a US Army veteran, having served during WWII as a staff sergeant. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife of sixty-two years, Lois (Prouty) Bell; an infant son; a brother, and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Christie) Bell of Cambridge; a son, Edward Bell of McKinney TX; two daughters, Lee Marlatt of Cambridge and Trudy Hawkins of McKinney TX; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. No calling hours will be observed. No funeral services will be held at this time.
