Charles "Boe" E. Miller, 91, of Freeport, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital.
Charles was born on February 16, 1933, in Logan, West Virginia, a son to the late Bill and Ruby (Sparks) Miller. Charles enjoyed hunting, raising and training Coon dogs, hunting ginseng, and was a gun collector. He loved God, his family, and his country. Charles attended Chapmansville High School and went on to serve in the United States Army from January 27, 1953, to December 18, 1954. After serving in the Army, Charles worked for Nettleton Steel and retired after 31 years of employment.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Juanita (Sturgell) Miller, whom he married on October 19, 1955, and passed away on February 3, 2015, three sons, Johnny, Anthony, and Manuel, his daughter-in-law, Sue, and his siblings, Iva-Lee and Lonza.
Charles is survived by four sons, Charles, Bill (Debra), Ronnie (Connie), and Jimmie, two daughters, Cheyenne (Bobby), and Dyan, sixteen grandchildren, Jason, Jenni, Billy, Amanda, Charles Anthony, Chyenne "CJ", Manny, Matthew, Destiny, Nancy, Laytoya, Lana, Michael, Robert "Boe", and Clint, thirty-two great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, his sister, Malda Jean, and his daughter-in-law Maria.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2024, from 11AM until the time of the service at 1PM at Thorn Black Funeral Home in Cambridge with Pastor Larry Hostetler officiating. Burial will follow at Guernsey Memory Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
