Charles Warner Osler, 89, of Zanesville, passed away Wednesday (February 27, 2008) at the Genesis Extended Care & Rehabilitation Center, Zanesville. He was born on October 3, 1918 in Lore City, son of the late Charles Osler and Della (Warner) Osler. He married Joyce K. (Bigwood) Osler on July 24, 1945. Mr. Osler was a retired electrician who worked at Ballas Egg Corporation. Prior to that, he had worked at several other plants. He was the proud owner and operator of a one-man steam powered sawmill. Mr. Osler was a 1936 graduate of Old Washington High School. Mr. Osler was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He attended the Bob Larson Ministries. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Joyce K. Osler, who passed away in March of 1996; a sister, Kathleen Ankrom; and two brothers, Harold and Haven. He leaves a son, George T. Osler of Zanesville; three daughters, Phyllis (& James) Coutts of Zanesville, Caroline (& Ralph) Hayes of Lowell and Chrystal (& Kenneth) Pitman of Calhan CO; a sister, Mary Jane Berry of Salesville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews & close friends. Family and friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be held on Tuesday (March 4, 2008) at 1 p.m. with Pastor Larry Jellison officiating. Burial will be at Friends Cemetery, Quaker City, with military graveside services conducted by the Guernsey County Veterans Council.
