Charles "Jake" R. Dennis

Charles R. "Jake" Dennis, 80, of Lore City, passed away peacefully at home on Friday (April 19, 2013). He was born December 12, 1932 in Guernsey County, son of the late Ralph Dennis and Isabell (Kimble) Dennis. Mr. Dennis was a farmer and horse trader, having raised quarter horses for many years. He was an avid horse puller, and enjoyed going to the horse pulls with his friend, Floyd Perkins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ed, Junior, and John; and a sister, Donna Huston. He is survived by his partner of forty-four years, Dorothy Davis; a brother, James (& Darlene) of Mantua; two sisters-in-law, Donna Dennis of Macedonia and Rosalie Dennis of Zanesville; a brother-in-law, Bill Huston of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Jeff Dennis of Zanesville; special great-nieces, Amber McFadyen, Kayla Heskett, Katie Heskett, and Allee Heskett; and a friend, Casey Raber. Family and friends may call on Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday (April 23, 2013) at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Slay. Burial will be at Zion Cemetery.
