Charles Daniel Watkins

Charles "Dan" Daniel Watkins, 87, of Cambridge, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, at his residence.

Dan was born June 17, 1937, in Lumberport, WV, a son of the late Luther and Alma (Snodgrass) Watkins.

Dan received a bachelor's degree from Salem University, Salem, West Virginia and a master's degree from West Virginia University. Dan retired from Cambridge City Schools as a respected and loved teacher. He will always be remembered as a coach of many sports. Dan loved working with kids to make them better people in society.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Richard, Jack and Gene Watkins and his sister, Janet Watkins.

Dan is survived by his wife Barbara (Helderth) Watkins, whom he married December 23, 1961; his son, Kevin (& Lori) Watkins of Delaware, Oh; his daughter, Jodi (& Shawn) Crowley of Cambridge; his six grandchildren, Tyler Watkins, Kayla Watkins, Haleigh Watkins, Alexa/ Alex Watkins, JW Raptis, and Samantha (& Joe) Sylvis; three great- grandchildren, Malachi, Emmalyn, and Ripley; his nephew, John Watkins of New Jersey; and his niece, Kathy Dunfree of Marietta.

Visitation will be held at Thorn- Black Funeral Home in Cambridge on Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 11AM to 1PM with the service to follow at 1PM with Pastor Bob Hollins will officiate. Burial will follow at Northwood Cemetery.
