Clarence "Art" Sayre

Clarence "Art" Sayre, 66, of Cambridge, died Friday (August 24, 2012) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center, Cambridge. He was born April 18, 1946 in Cambridge, son of the late Viola Marie (Harper) Patterson and his step-father, the late Frank Patterson. Mr. Sayre retired from the Cambridge Country Club, where he was a maintenance man. He enjoyed watching western shows and listening to gospel music. In addition to his mother and step-father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John "Hump" Harper; and two sisters, Viola Jean Spangler and Debbie Jane Patterson. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Sayre of Florida; two sons, J.R. (& Tori) Sayre of Columbus MS and Bobby Sayre of Columbus MS; four daughters, Cindy (& Sean) Kirby of Wellston, Jolene Chaney of Sanford NC, Felicia Moore of Wylie SC, and Debbie (& Jarrod) Gussler of McArthur; two brothers, David "Mike" Patterson of Cambridge and Frankie "Joe" (& Lorie) Patterson of Cambridge; two sisters, Cynthia "Cindy" Campbell of Cambridge and Sherry (& Glenn) Bates of Norwich; thirteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Rita Arthurs of Cambridge. No calling hours will be observed. A private memorial service will be held Saturday (September 1, 2012) with Pastor Donald Glass officiating.
