Clarice Bernadine Mcvicker

Clarice Bernadine McVicker, 77, of Cambridge and formerly of Batesville, passed away Thursday (December 25, 2008) at Victorian Oaks Assisted Living, Cambridge. She was born January 24, 1931, on a farm near Batesville, in Noble County, the daughter of the late Edgar and Edna (Watson) Douglas. She was a graduate of Batesville High School, and enjoyed sewing and was an avid basketball fan. Now retired, Mrs. McVicker was a seamstress for forty years. She was also a member of the Calais Church. Survivors include four sons, William (Judy Watkins) McVicker of Byesville and Richard "Dick" McVicker, Kenneth (Vicki) McVicker and James (Janis) McVicker, all of Summerfield; one daughter, Sheila B. (Junior) Ackerman of Lewisville; one sister, Lois Bates; fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Cheryl Jean McVicker; one brother, Thomas Douglas; and one granddaughter, Krista Ackerman. Family and friends may call on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Quaker City, where services will be held on Tuesday (December 30, 2008) at 1 p.m. with Evang.
